2026 Mustang engines and transmissions

The manual transmissions include rev matching and no-lift shift. Ford rates horsepower on premium fuel; 87 octane is the minimum and 91+ is recommended.

Fastback or convertible

• Fastback – every version, including Dark Horse. Seats 4, with 13.3 cu. ft. of trunk space.
• Convertible – EcoBoost and GT versions only. Seats 4, with 10.3 cu. ft. of trunk space.

• EcoBoost – the 315-hp turbo four with a 10-speed automatic and 18-inch wheels.
• EcoBoost Premium – the same engine with more standard features.
• GT – the 480-hp V8 with a 6-speed manual standard. The available GT Performance Package adds Brembo 6-piston front brakes, MagneRide dampers and a TORSEN limited-slip differential.
• GT Premium – the V8 with more standard features and 19-inch wheels. The GT Performance Package is available here too.
• Dark Horse – the 500-hp V8 with MagneRide dampers and Brembo 6-piston front brakes standard, fastback only.
